Common Remote Tune Questions

Remote tuning starts with your purchase and stock read file. JRJ reviews your vehicle information, build notes, tuning device, and uploaded file, then sends back a tune through the portal. You flash the file, test it, and send feedback or logs when revisions are needed.

After checkout, use the private portal link to upload your stock read, order number, vehicle details, mod list, screenshots, and logs if available. Keep all tune communication in the portal so revisions stay organized.

Most first revisions are completed within 24 business hours Monday-Friday after all required information is received. Please allow up to 48 business hours during busy periods. Faster turnaround is available when purchased and when the order is submitted during normal business hours.

Initial revisions are included and handled through the Tune Portal. Revisions depend on accurate feedback, a supported vehicle/controller, and logs when requested.

Provide the VIN, year, make, model, engine, transmission, cam specs if cammed, injectors, headers/cats, converter, gear ratio, tire size, fuel type, DOD/AFM/MDS/VVT status, and the tuning device or software you are using.

Send what you know, include photos if needed, and explain what is unknown. JRJ can help guide the next step, but unknown injectors, cam specs, converters, or delete hardware can limit how accurately a tune can be built.

For HP Tuners tune files, you need supported HP Tuners hardware/software access to read and flash the vehicle. EFI Live support is available where applicable.

HP Tuners credits are sold separately unless a specific product or bundle clearly says credits are included. Check credit requirements before flashing.

Credit requirements vary by vehicle and controller. Use HP Tuners credit information, the calibration details screen, or JRJ support if you are unsure.

If the order includes transmission tuning or TCM changes, the TCM may need to be licensed. This depends on the vehicle, controller, and supported tune path.

Some first files can be built from the stock read and build details. Logs are often needed for drivability issues, cammed setups, fuel trims, idle problems, shift behavior, or revision work.

A wideband may be required or strongly recommended for certain builds, especially nonstandard fuel, boosted, speed density, or more advanced combinations. JRJ will tell you when it is needed.

Send a clear description of the issue, what changed, when it happens, current codes, and logs if available. Some problems are tune-related, while mechanical, wiring, fuel, or sensor issues still need diagnosis.

JRJ may request specific channels based on the vehicle. In general, useful logs include idle/startup behavior, MAF/MAP data, fuel trims, commanded/actual fueling, spark, throttle, airflow, RPM, coolant temp, codes, and transmission data when relevant.

Long tube header support is available on supported vehicles. Send header size, catalyst information, rear O2 status, current codes, and exhaust details.

Cam swap tuning requires cam card/specs, converter details for automatics, injector data, headers, fuel, tire size, gear ratio, delete hardware status, and logs when requested.

DOD, AFM, and MDS delete tuning is available on supported vehicles after the hardware path is known. The tune must match the actual mechanical setup.

Gear and tire changes can affect speedometer accuracy and transmission behavior. Send the exact tire size and axle ratio.

Injector tuning needs real injector data or exact part information. Converter support needs stall, brand, part details, transmission type, and current behavior notes.
