Tune availability depends on the exact vehicle, engine, controller, and build. The builder shows supported catalog combinations; a listed make or platform does not mean every vehicle or tuning option is available.
This is the complete hands-on remote-tuning service. Jason starts with your vehicle's stock read, builds the calibration for the exact combination you purchased, then continues refining it from your feedback and datalogs.
Choose Custom when the build needs more than a startup file: cam swaps, DOD/AFM or MDS deletes, transmission changes, injectors, forced induction, swaps, or combinations that need datalog-based drivability work.
The file is built around your vehicle instead of pulled from a download catalog. You can submit logs and feedback through the portal so startup, idle, fueling, shifting, and supported purchased options can be reviewed and adjusted.
Device required: HP Tuners MPVI2, MPVI3, MPVI4, or supported EFI Live hardware. RTD/TDN devices are not currently supported. Hardware and licensing credits are included only when the selected product specifically says they are.
Build My Custom TuneA Base Tune is still built from your stock read and build information, but its scope is intentionally limited. It is designed to get a new or changed combination started, idling, and into initial driving with one revision—not to replace a fully refined custom tune.
Choose Base when you need a vehicle-specific starting calibration and understand that one revision may not finish every drivability or performance detail. It is a practical first step for getting a fresh build running.
It does not include the multi-log, multi-revision refinement of the Full Custom Remote Tune. Final idle quality, shifting, fuel correction, and maximum performance may require an upgrade to the complete service.
Important: A Base Tune is not guaranteed to be the final tune. If the combination needs additional datalog review or refinement after the included revision, upgrade to Full Custom Remote Tuning. The same supported HP Tuners or EFI Live hardware requirement applies.
Order A Base TuneThis is a pre-written HP Tuners file from the JRJ catalog for an exact supported combination. It is delivered digitally and is not rebuilt from your stock read. It includes no remote tuning, datalog review, revisions, or customer Tune Portal service.
Choose Download only when the product's listed vehicle, engine, controller or operating-system requirements, transmission, camshaft, fuel, and supported modifications match your combination exactly.
Open your vehicle's original read and the downloaded file in HP Tuners VCM Editor, then use Compare & Copy to transfer the applicable calibration changes. Do not directly flash another vehicle's complete file.
Important: HP Tuners and your vehicle's original stock read are required. If the build is not an exact match—or you want personal review, logs, or revisions—choose Full Custom Remote Tune instead.
Browse .HPT FilesChoose the vehicle, camshaft, transmission, and drivetrain first, then select the tune type before any modification options. Downloadable .HPT buyers see the file limitations instead of unsupported add-ons.
Choose each part of the vehicle in order. After the camshaft, confirm the transmission and drivetrain, then select the tune type so the builder can show only the options supported by that path.
Enter the specifications shown on your cam card. Durations must be measured at .050-inch tappet lift—not advertised duration.
Paid selections are matched to the existing Shopify tune add-on products and added with the tune. Free and unlisted details stay attached to the order.
Downloadable .HPT files are limited to the selected supported camshaft calibration or supported DOD/AFM/MDS/VVT delete calibration. They do not include tuning changes for blowers, headers, intakes, injectors, fuel systems, heads, converters, transmissions, tire size, gear ratio, or other add-ons.
Supporting every possible vehicle, cam, and modification combination would require more than 14,000 separate files, so modification support is not currently offered with downloadable files. If your vehicle has additional modifications, choose a Base Tune or Full Custom Remote Tune.

Remote tuning has to be done one step at a time. It is not always as simple as sending one file and being finished. A lot of things can affect how fast the process goes: the condition of the vehicle, mechanical issues, whether the data log shows the issues, how many modifications the vehicle has, how quickly we can communicate back and forth, my current workload, and any unexpected problems we run into along the way.
Please read the complete remote tuning checklist and process before you begin. We have to work forward one step at a time. That has proven to be the safest and most efficient way to do this. If we skip steps or try to change too many things at once, it can slow everything down and make us work backward.

HEMI remote tune support includes compatible RAM, Charger, Challenger, Chrysler 300, Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and related 5.7L and 6.4L HEMI platforms where HP Tuners support applies. HEMI tuning can cover stock, bolt-on, cammed, and MDS delete workflows when the vehicle, controller, and read file are supported.
MDS delete tune support is built for HEMI vehicles after the mechanical MDS delete has been completed. The tune disables Multi-Displacement System logic and can be paired with cam swap information, headers, intake changes, tire and gear information, and other build details when those options are part of the order.
LS swap tune files are available for many 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L swaps using supported GM controllers. LS swap calibration work can include VATS delete, startup support, fan control, speedometer calibration, tire size calibration, gear ratio calibration, engine and transmission setup details, and drivability support based on the parts and controller being used.
Customers ordering an LS swap tune should provide the stock read file, engine details, transmission details, injector information, mass airflow or speed density setup notes, tire size, gear ratio, fuel type, fan setup, vehicle chassis information, and any camshaft or power-adder details needed for the calibration.
J.R. Jones Racing LLC supports HP Tuners tune file workflows for many GM LS, LT, and HEMI applications using compatible MPVI interfaces and VCM Suite software. EFI Live tune file support is available for supported GM applications when the customer has a compatible EFI Live V2 or AutoCal workflow and the vehicle/controller combination is supported.
The remote process is built around customer-supplied read files and build information. Customers purchase the tune file, read the vehicle controller with HP Tuners or EFI Live where applicable, submit the stock read file and build details, flash the returned calibration, and provide logs or feedback for included revision support when needed.

You need HP Tuners MPVI2, MPVI3, or MPVI4, or a supported EFI Live device. RTD and TDN devices are not currently supported. You also need a factory ECM read file, stable battery voltage while reading and flashing, and a complete build list including cam, fuel, exhaust, and drivetrain details.

Custom Remote Tune is built from your stock read and includes up to five revisions; Base Tune includes one revision; downloadable .HPT files are exact-match reference files with no custom revisions. Custom and Base Tune files, logs, and feedback move through the private Tune Portal.
Normal Revision 1 turnaround is 24–72 business hours after we receive your stock read file, with delivery guaranteed no later than 72 business hours after receipt. There is no guaranteed completion date for the entire tuning process or turnaround time for later revisions. After Revision 1, progress depends on vehicle condition, installed parts, mechanical or installation issues, tuning equipment, and the quality of the logs and feedback. It also depends on when you have time to record logs and upload them, and when JRJ receives those files. Logs and follow-up requests enter the queue and are handled in the order received. Each submission needs time for review and any adjustments included with your service. If we are waiting on logs, answers, parts or repairs, the next step must wait. Receiving a log does not start another guaranteed turnaround period. Normal business hours are Monday–Friday, excluding holidays; weekends do not count toward normal turnaround. Paid Faster Turnaround has separate same-business-day terms, including Friday.
