Choose Your 2014–2018 Silverado 1500 5.3L L83 Tuning Service
This vehicle-specific product covers supported 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trucks equipped with the 5.3L L83 engine. Select the truck’s exact model year and choose either Full Custom Remote Tune or Base Tune — One Revision before checkout.
Full Custom Remote Tuning is the featured service. It is built from your truck’s original stock read and complete build information, then refined through the private Tune Portal with feedback, datalog review, and up to five revisions. The Base Tune — One Revision service uses the same vehicle-specific stock-read workflow but is limited to startup, idle, initial drivability, and one revision.
This is a remote-tuning service—not a handheld programmer. Tuning hardware, software access, vehicle credits, and any required controller licensing are separate unless the cart explicitly lists them as separate products.
- Exact year and selected service shown with the order
- Both JRJ service paths are built from the vehicle’s own stock read
- Private Tune Portal for files, messages, feedback, and revision history
- Full Custom includes datalog review and up to five revisions
- Personally reviewed and tuned by Jason Jones

Choose Your JRJ Tuning Service
Featured JRJ Service
Full Custom Remote Tune
Choose Full Custom when the truck needs supported tuning with datalog review and up to five revisions. It is the recommended path for cam swaps, forced induction, transmission work, and other supported combinations that need more refinement than the Base service includes.
- Built from the original stock read
- Private Tune Portal
- Datalog review
- Up to five revisions
JRJ Starting Service
Base Tune — One Revision
Choose Base Tune — One Revision when a completed, supported build needs a vehicle-specific starting tune for startup, idle, and initial drivability. It includes one revision and is not presented as the same refinement level as Full Custom.
- Built from the original stock read
- Private Tune Portal
- Startup, idle, and initial drivability
- One revision
Upgrade clarity: A Base Tune — One Revision service can move to Full Custom when more datalog review or refinement is needed, but the price difference or purchase credit is not applied automatically. Contact J.R. Jones Racing LLC with the original order number before purchasing an upgrade; any credit must be approved in writing.

Dedicated support within the purchased service. JRJ works carefully and in good faith to address tuning concerns. Remote tuning requires accurate build information, requested datalogs, feedback, and customer cooperation. It does not include unlimited revisions, unlimited troubleshooting, mechanical repair, or guaranteed results. These limits do not excuse a verified error in JRJ’s work. Any additional paid work must be agreed before it begins.
Modification pricing stays visible. Supported cam and modification options selected in the Tune Builder may appear as separate paid add-ons in the cart. An unselected or undisclosed modification is not automatically included with either service variant.

How it works
How the JRJ Remote-Tuning Process Works
- Choose the exact service variant. Select the truck’s year and either Full Custom Remote Tune or Base Tune — One Revision.
- Configure the build. Confirm the camshaft, transmission, drivetrain, fuel, AFM/DOD and VVT status, and every supported modification that applies.
- Complete checkout. The primary tuning-service line carries the confirmed year and tune type. Paid add-ons remain separate so their prices are clear.
- Open the Tune Portal. Use the secure portal access provided through the approved checkout and email flow.
- Upload the original stock read. Add the untouched vehicle file, calibration-details screenshot when requested, and complete build information.
- Receive Revision 1. Normal turnaround is 24–72 business hours after J.R. Jones Racing LLC receives your vehicle’s stock read file, with delivery guaranteed no later than 72 business hours after receipt. Revision 1 is the initial tune delivered through the private Tune Portal. Business hours are Monday–Friday, excluding holidays; weekends do not count toward normal turnaround.
- Flash, test, and respond. Follow the supplied process, use stable battery voltage, describe the vehicle’s behavior, and upload any requested datalog through the same portal order.
- Use the selected revision level. Full Custom includes up to five revisions. Base Tune — One Revision includes one revision. Later revisions and completion of the entire tuning process have no fixed or guaranteed turnaround time. Timing depends on datalogs, feedback, mechanical or installation checks, changes to the build, and the individual work required.
Paid Faster Turnaround: for eligible Full Custom orders, Revision 1 is guaranteed by the end of the same business day when the stock read is received during normal business hours. Friday is included, and Friday delivery may be as late as midnight Eastern depending on workload. Reads received outside normal business hours, on weekends, or on holidays begin processing the next business day. This earlier deadline applies to Revision 1 only.
Receiving a datalog does not start a guaranteed deadline for a later revision. The Revision 1 delivery commitment does not guarantee completion of the entire tuning process.

2014–2018 Silverado 5.3L L83 Tuning FAQs
Answers about fitment, support, hardware, and what happens next.
Why are Full Custom Remote Tune and Base Tune — One Revision on one product?
Both are vehicle-specific JRJ services for the same Silverado and L83 platform. The Year and Tune Type variants make checkout show the exact truck year and the service selected while keeping one accurate vehicle page instead of duplicate pages.
Which service should I choose?
Choose Full Custom for datalog review and up to five revisions, especially for supported cammed, forced-induction, transmission, or more complex combinations. Choose Base Tune — One Revision for startup, idle, initial drivability, and one revision when an extended refinement process is not needed.
Is this product a handheld tuner or programmer?
No. This is remote tuning performed from your truck’s stock read. It does not include a handheld programmer, tuning interface, or vehicle credits.
Does this product fit every 2014–2018 Silverado?
No. This product is specifically for a supported Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with the 5.3L L83. A 4.3L LV3, 6.2L L86, diesel, different model, engine swap, or unsupported controller requires a different product or confirmation before purchase.
Can you tune a stock, bolt-on, AFM-delete, or cammed L83?
Supported combinations can use a JRJ service, but the tune must match the actual hardware. Enter the exact camshaft or cam card, AFM/DOD hardware status, VVT status, transmission, converter, injector data, fuel, intake, exhaust, tire size, gear ratio, and other modifications. Separately priced options must be selected in the Tune Builder.
What tuning hardware is supported?
Use an HP Tuners MPVI2, MPVI3, or MPVI4, or a specifically supported EFI Live workflow. RTD and TDN devices are not currently supported.
Are HP Tuners credits or licensing included?
No. Credits and required licensing are separate unless the cart explicitly lists them as a separate product or bundle. Credit needs depend on the vehicle, controller, and modules being tuned.
How many revisions are included?
Full Custom includes up to five revisions for the supported combination. Base Tune — One Revision includes one revision. Clean datalogs, accurate feedback, and complete build information are required to use the revision process effectively.
How long does Revision 1 take?
Normal Revision 1 turnaround is 24–72 business hours after J.R. Jones Racing LLC receives your vehicle’s stock read file, with delivery guaranteed no later than 72 business hours after receipt. Business hours are Monday–Friday, excluding holidays; weekends do not count. An eligible paid Faster Turnaround order has the earlier deadline described above. Revision 1 is the initial tune, not a promise that every operating condition will be fully refined in the first file.
How long do later revisions take?
Later revisions have no fixed or guaranteed turnaround time. They depend on usable datalogs, clear feedback, mechanical or installation checks, changes to the build, and the individual tuning work needed. Uploading a datalog does not start a guaranteed revision deadline.
Is a wideband required?
Not for every combination. Additional instrumentation may be required or strongly recommended for nonstandard fuel, forced-induction, speed-density, or other advanced builds. J.R. Jones Racing LLC will identify that need when it applies.
Can tuning fix a mechanical problem?
No. Fuel, ignition, sensor, wiring, vacuum, exhaust, compression, oil-pressure, and hardware problems must be repaired before tune changes can be expected to resolve drivability.
Can I upgrade from Base Tune — One Revision to Full Custom?
Yes, when more datalog review or refinement is needed. The purchase credit or price difference is not automatic. Contact support with the original order number before buying Full Custom so the correct next step and any approved credit can be confirmed in writing.
Can tuning affect my warranty or emissions inspection?
Modified tuning may affect warranty coverage and may be regulated differently by location. Confirm applicable warranty terms and local, state, and federal requirements before flashing a modified file. No inspection or legal-use outcome is guaranteed.
