How HP Tuners and EFI Live Remote Tuning Works

Follow the complete read, license, upload, flash, datalog, and revision workflow. J.R. Jones Racing LLC supports HP Tuners MPVI2, MPVI3, and MPVI4 broadly, plus EFI Live only where the specific vehicle and controller path is supported. RTD and TDN devices are not currently supported.

Read and License

Use current supported software, a compatible interface, required vehicle credits, and stable battery voltage.

Custom and Base Tune customers keep the stock read, build details, delivered files, feedback, and revisions in the Tune Portal.

Flash the correct file, follow the requested log procedure, and return clear feedback for the revisions included with the product.

How the interface, software, credits and Tune Portal work together.

This page explains the operating workflow J.R. Jones Racing LLC supports. The tuning device communicates with the vehicle, the desktop software reads and flashes the file, vehicle credits license a supported controller, and the Tune Portal carries the customer’s stock read and revisions. None of those pieces should be assumed to include the others unless a product says so.

Interface

Use HP Tuners MPVI2, MPVI3 or MPVI4, or a specifically supported EFI Live device. RTD and TDN are not currently supported.

Desktop software

Install the current supported HP Tuners VCM Suite or EFI Live software and save a clean stock read before modification.

Vehicle credits

Licensing is separate from the interface and from the J.R. Jones Racing LLC tune unless the selected product explicitly says otherwise.

Tune Portal

Upload the stock read and build details, download the latest tune, submit feedback and keep revision history tied to the same order.

Read the vehicle

Connect stable battery support, use the correct software and save the untouched stock read with a clear filename.

Choose the product

Use the vehicle builder and list every modification. Select Custom, Base or downloadable .HPT according to the required support.

Upload through the portal

Custom and Base customers provide the read, order and build details in the private portal rather than scattering files across messages.

Flash, log and respond

Flash with stable voltage, follow the requested logging procedure and submit clear feedback for the revisions included with the product.

Which HP Tuners interfaces are supported?

No. EFI Live support depends on the exact controller, file format and product workflow.

Where do I upload the stock read?

Custom and Base Tune customers upload through the private Tune Portal attached to the order.

Do downloadable files use the portal?

They use Shopify’s digital-delivery workflow and the product’s Compare and Copy instructions rather than custom revisions.

Can I buy an MPVI4 through J.R. Jones Racing LLC?

Yes. Add it at the bottom of the tune builder; it remains a separate cart item and credits are separate.

Why is stable battery voltage important?

A voltage drop during reading or flashing can interrupt communication and increase the risk of a failed write.
